What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have

This notice explains how KickScrew Store handles personal information when you use this website or buy from us. We keep it as plain as we can.

Information we collect

  • Order information. Your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number, and the items you ordered.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment providers. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.
  • Account information. If you create an account, your email address and order history.
  • Technical information. IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived at the site.
  • Communications. The content of messages you send us and our replies.

Why we use it

  • To process, fulfil and deliver your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
  • To provide customer support and answer your questions.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
  • To improve the site, and — only where you have agreed — to send you marketing email.

Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on performance of a contract for orders, legitimate interests for fraud prevention and service improvement, consent for marketing, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with the companies that help us run the store: payment processors, shipping carriers, our hosting and email providers, and analytics tools. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal information internationally we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally 7 years. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are kept for up to 2 years.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
  • Receive your information in a portable format.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows — usually 30 days.

Security

The site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and we restrict access to personal information to staff who need it to do their job. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers rather than stored on our servers. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password if you create an account, and tell us straight away if you think your account has been compromised.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookies page for the detail and for how to control them.
